(1) Registration is
Filling Up for 2006 Qualifying Sites
Competition space at various Robofest qualifying
sites is filling up and closing quickly.
If you have not already registered your team(s) for a Robofest
Competition Site, please do so as soon as possible. You can register on the Robofest website, www.robofest.net. Returning coaches should use their old coach
ID and password to register teams. New
Coaches will need to register as a Coach before registering a team. Your Coach registration will be confirmed via
an e-mail to your account. If you do not
receive verification of coach registration, contact chung@LTU.edu.
(2) 2006 Warm-up Competition
Saturday, March 18
The
practice warm-up competition will be held on
We are now
taking reservations for teams to participate in the practice warm-up competition.
Please send an email to admin@robofest.org
with your team ID(s), if your team is interested in. We are planning to have
only 6 junior teams, 4 senior teams, and 4 exhibition teams.
If you are
interested in volunteering for the warm-up event, please go to http://admin.robofest.org/index.jsp?siteID=37
to sign up online. There are various positions
available.
Teams are
also invited to come earlier in the day to practice their robots on a Robofest
Playing Field that will be set up during the Science Olympiad Event that will
be going on at the LTU Campus. We will
let you know exact time to come in the next eNewsletter.
Admission is free.
(3) Official VEX
Pentathlon Rules Posted to the Web
The VEX Pentathlon Rules have been posted to the
Robofest website at www.robofest.net. You will find the rules on the front page of
the Robofest website. The VEX
Pentathlon is for teams who are using VEX.
The Pentathlon Competition will have two different dates, a
practice/qualifying date (April 29), and a competition date (May 13). The VEX Pentathlon will feature 5 events that
VEX Team robots can participate in. The
VEX Pentathlon events are Skeeball, Race Track, Tug of War, Long Jump, and Bottle
Bowling. During the April 29
practice/qualifying round, Teams may enter as many robots as they would like in
one Pentathlon event, or all Pentathlon events. All robots must be made from VEX parts
only.
Teams must register for the VEX Pentathlon
practice/qualifying site. The
practice/qualifying site will take place on April 29,
Stay tuned to the Robofest website for additional
details. Registration is now available
on the web for a limited number of teams.
Registration will be on a first come first serve basis. Registration is $35.00 per team, and will
cover both dates and all Pentathlon Events.
The VEX Pentathlon Practice/Qualifying Round and VEX
Pentathlon Competition is being organized by the Cranbrook Kingswood Robotics
Team.
